JOHN LENNON

HISTORIA

John Winston (en memoria de Churchill) Lennon, músico (guitarra rítmica, harmónica, piano...), cantante y compositor, miembro de The Beatles (cuyo nombre fue idea suya) desde 1962 hasta 1970, nació en Liverpool el 9 de Octubre de 1940, durante un bombardeo nazi y fue asesinado en las cercanías de su apartamento (edificio Dakota) de New York el 8 de Diciembre de 1980 por un fan perturbado, Mark David Chapman. Su padre (Alfred) abandonó a su madre (Julia), siendo John un bebé y marchó a EEUU para no enrolarse en el ejército. A los 5 años su madre le deja al cuidado de su tía Mimi, al casarse con otro hombre. Cuando John tenía 17 años su madre murió atropellada por un policía ebrio. Años más tarde se reencontraría con su padre, del que se ocupó económicamente. En 1962 se casó con Cynthia y tuvo un hijo, Julian. En 1966 dijo que los Beatles eran más populares que Jesucristo, lo que le trajo enormes problemas, sobre todo en USA. Se casó en 1969 en Gibraltar con Yoko Ono. En 1975 nace su hijo Sean.
